Exploring ideas of expansion and playing with this in terms of form, I was interested in the new chair embodying qualities of softness and comfort. To see a transformation of its original utilitarian and industrial form into something different.
Materials centre around offcuts/coupe fabrics from the Arnsdorf Atelier. Different textures of the same tones are wrapped in many layers creating a new and expansive form reminiscent of cloud formations or a cocoon.
In the spirit of reconciliation Cult Design acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
